Coteaux du Layon – The 4 Villages, the balance between richness and freshness. Exclusively made from Chenin Blanc, this Coteaux du Layon is born from the unique alchemy between the grape variety and noble rot (Botrytis cinerea), which naturally concentrates the sugars in the berries to offer a sweet wine of great complexity. The 4 Villages reveals a harmonious sweetness perfectly balanced by a lively and refreshing acidity, which gives it energy and lightness. On the palate, the aromas of candied fruits, pear, honey, and white flowers intertwine delicately. It pairs wonderfully with foie gras, a pear with nuts, or even a mild blue cheese. Its name pays tribute to the origin of the grapes, carefully harvested from plots located in four villages surrounding our cellar, where tradition and modernity unite to reveal the quintessence of Chenin. Served well chilled, The 4 Villages is an ideal companion for an aperitif by the Loire, or to conclude a meal on an elegant and gourmet note. Coteaux du Layon 1er Cru Chaume Le Chaume, nobility and intensity of a great sweet wine Born from an exceptional terroir, Le Chaume comes from vines planted on purple green schists and spilite, a rare volcanic rock. This unique soil promotes early botrytization, allowing for a natural concentration of sugars while preserving the freshness of the fruit. This Coteaux du Layon 1er Cru Chaume reveals a deep, brilliant golden yellow color. On the nose, a complex aromatic palette opens with notes of honey, acacia flowers, then evolves into fresh fruits (apple, pear) and candied fruits (apricot, quince, pineapple). The palate is ample, silky, with a luscious roundness balanced by a subtle liveliness that extends the tasting into a clean and elegant finish. This wine wonderfully embodies the controlled power and natural elegance of the great sweet wines of the Loire.
