The requirement of a passion

Coteaux du Layon

The Coteaux du Layon AOC is located on the Layon River, a tributary of the Loire. Its well-ventilated south-facing hillsides, and temperate oceanic climate provide an ideal environment for growing late-harvest Chenin Blanc.

This sweet, succulent wine, originating in the 16th Century, is made from noble rot-affected grapes that are hand harvested cluster by cluster over several passes.  Coteaux du Layon offers rich aromas of honeyed fig and acacia and boasts excellent aging potential.
